宣纸传统制作技艺

造纸术是中国古代四大发明之一。宣纸是传统手工纸的杰出代表，具有质地绵韧、不蛀不腐等特点。自唐代（公元8世纪初）以来，它一直是书法、绘画及典籍印刷的最佳载体，至今仍不能为机制纸所替代。宣纸传统制作技艺有108道工序，对水质、原料制备、器具制作、工艺把握都有严格要求。这一技艺经口传心授世代相传，不断改进，与多种文化元素结合，对传承中华民族文化产生了深远影响，对促进民族认同和维护文化多样性起到了重要的作用。

Traditional Production Techniques of Xuan Paper

Papermaking is one of the four great inventions in ancient China. Xuan Paper is an outstanding representative of traditional handmade paper, which has the characteristics of flexible texture, non-decay and so on. Since the Tang Dynasty (early 8th century A.D.), it has been the best carrier of calligraphy, painting and classics printing, and it can not be replaced by machine-made paper. There are 108 processes in the traditional production of Xuan Paper, which have strict requirements on water quality, raw material preparation, utensil production and process control. This skill has been handed down from generation to generation through oral transmission, continuous improvement and combination with various cultural elements, which has had a far-reaching impact on the inheritance of Chinese culture, and has played an important role in promoting national identity and maintaining cultural diversity.
