On small islands such as Keanu and Manny in the Baltic Sea, not far from the coast of Estonia, there is a group of 600 people living. Over the centuries, traditional forms of cultural expression and agricultural traditions on the island have been preserved, thanks largely to the female population of the island. Since there were residents on the island, Kenu has kept the custom that men go out to sea to catch seals and fish, while women stay on the island to farm and do housework. As husbands, sons and brothers went out to sea for a long time, the women of Keanu became the main inheritors of the traditional culture of the foundation. The cultural tradition of Keanu is embodied in a large number of songs, games, dances, wedding celebrations and handicraft products, passed down from generation to generation in the form of dictation. Singing is the first choice in group handmade activities and celebrations of religious festivals, such as the St. John Festival of June 23, the St. of November 25 or Christmas Day. of the music repertoire reserved by the islanders, it is particularly noteworthy that it comes from the oral tradition before Christianity, known as the Ruven song or the Kahler song. The most obvious features of Keanu culture are reflected in the wool artifacts worn by women. In their homes, they weave gloves, socks, skirts and shirts with traditional looms and local wool. These fabrics are colourful, with bright stripes and intricate embroidery patterns. Many of the symbolic patterns and colors of these clothes are derived from ancient legends, which are repeated in folk songs and poems. In addition to its unique handicraft, oral and musical traditions, Keanu culture is reflected in the interconnectedness of its rich cultural and natural heritage. Today, distinctive landscapes (such as semi-natural meadows, pine forests and coastal sandy lands) on two small islands remain relatively intact.
