Pahlevani is an Iranian martial art that combines elements of Islam, Gnosticism and ancient Persian beliefs. The performers of the ceremony were ten to twenty men, each waving instruments symbolizing ancient weapons and performing various gymnastic and flexible movements. The ceremony was held in a place similar to the wrestling field called Zoorkhane. The central depression of the dome structure is an octagonal performance venue surrounded by auditorium. Mohid guided the Palawani ritual, reciting epics and Gnostic poems and beating rhythms on Zab's tall drums. His poems, which spread ethics and social teachings, form part of Zukane's literature. Participants in the Palawani ceremony may come from any social class or religious background, each team has close ties with the local community, and strives to help those in need. During the training, students learn ethical and chivalrous values under the supervision of Pshkesvat. Only those who master skills and art, appreciate religious principles and attain the ethical and moral standards of Gnosticism can attain Palawani's distinctive rank and gain prestige and authority in this community. At present, there are more than 500 Zukanes in Iran, each of which is composed of artists, founders and some masters.
